Hryhoriy Mykhailovych Zelezny
Date of birth: 21.07.1952.
In 1975, he graduated from the Odesa Higher Engineering Marine School (OHEMS) with a major in Maritime Navigation.
Ph.D. from 1985 in the specialty 05.22.16 - Navigation, Professor.
He headed the Department of Technical Means of Navigation of the (OHEMS), later renamed the Odessa State Maritime Academy. Graduated from doctoral studies in 1995.
Can read almost all navigation, legal and other disciplines for navigators.
Head of contractual research topics 1988-1992
Member of the Association of Captains of Ukraine since 2000. Member of IFSMA.
A supertanker captain, he commanded tankers from 48,000 to 330,000 deadweight tons for almost 20 years. Participant of the 25th Soviet Antarctic Expedition.
Author of 15 manuals for Shipmasters (8 books published under his editorship and 7 books published independently), and also developed 20 presentations on IMO model courses. In 2023, he published in electronic form the Master's Handbook in Ukrainian - 628 pages, as well as 3 Master's handbooks in English (Master's Handbook, Master's Handbook - Oil Tanker Cargo Operation, Master's Handbook - Ice Navigation).
